Director dealings: Jardines ex-MD makes $26m 'family estate' deals
(Sharecast News) - Jardine Matheson hogged the limelight on both sides of director dealings on Friday, as its former managing director was attached to a disposal and a purchase worth more than $26m. The company said veteran Hong Kong businessman Anthony Nightingale, who has remained a non-executive director since retiring as managing director in 2012, made the transactions for "family estate planning".
It said a total of 450,000 shares were sold for a price of $58.50, and 450,000 were purchased for the same price, valuing each side of the transaction at $26,325,000 (£19,953,428.62).
Elsewhere, Symphony International disclosed a director purchase worth almost $0.2m on Friday, after a director made a market purchase.
The company said Anil Thadani bought 459,531 shares on Wednesday, at a price of 42 US cents each, valuing the purchase at $191,302.75 (£145,115.57).
Thadani is the chairman of Symphony's investment manager, the Singapore-domiciled Symphony Asia Holdings.
On the selling side of things, Robert Walters reported well over £1m in director transactions, as two of its executives exercised options and immediately sold the shares.
The recruitment specialist said its chief financial officer Alan Bannatyne exercised options in two tranches - 200,000 at a price of 353p each, and 10,000 at 211p apiece.
Chief executive officer Robert Walters, meanwhile, exercised a single tranche of options, netting himself 150,000 shares at an exercise price of 353p.
Both Bannatyne and Walters sold the shares at a price of 650p, earning Bannatyne £1.3m and £65,000 for his respective tranches, and Walters £975,000 for his new holding.
After the exercise and sale, the firm said Robert Walters had a 2.92% holding in the company and Alan Bannatyne a 0.91% share - both unchanged from their previous shareholdings.
