Director dealings: Thomson Reuters, Blackstone's £2.7bn LSE sale filed
(Sharecast News) - London Stock Exchange Group was well and truly at the top of the list of director sells on Monday, as it disclosed the details of the £2.7bn sales made by Blackstone and Thomson Reuters last week. The exchange operator said BCP York Holdings Delaware offloaded 15,233,815 shares at 8,050p each in a single transaction on 19 May, giving the transaction a value of £1,226,322.50.
York Holdings II, meanwhile, sold 11,674,619 shares for 8,050p apiece in a single transaction on 19 May, valuing that sale at £939,806,829.50.
Finally, York Holdings III disposed of 6,091,566 shares for the same price of 8,050p, in a single transaction also on 19 May, giving the third sale a value of £490,371,063.00.
Both York Holdings II and York Holdings III are indirectly owned by BCP York Holdings, which itself is linked to Blackstone and Thomson Reuters as part of the pair's previous ownership of Refinitiv.
Thomson Reuters sold a majority stake in Refinitiv to a consortium led by Blackstone in October 2018, with the pair agreeing to sell the business to LSE Group in an all-share transaction in 2019.
When that sale closed in January 2021, Thomson Reuters indirectly owned 82.5 million shares in LSE Group, with both it and Blackstone agreeing to a lock-up of the LSE shares.
All of the shares were locked up until 29 January this year, with the duo able to sell one-third of their stakes in each of the two years after that.
The lock-up arrangement will end entirely on 29 January 2025.
At 1335 BST, shares in London Stock Exchange Group were down 0.14% at 8,422p.
